Please also note, that as we believe "fresh is best" and try to avoid wastage, some menu items will sell out, which means later in the week you might have reduced choices from the menu. It really helps us if you can book ahead and if you are coming on a Sunday and have particular tastes or dietary requirements, it might also be a good idea to order in advance to ensure we can cater for you.

Proudly Kaipara
Sahara is found 15mins off State Highway 1 from Brynderwyn in the heart of the Kaipara region, an area rich in history (be it Natural History, Maori History or more recent European History). We are blessed to have the mighty Kaipara Harbour on our doorstep providing abundant seafood and rich productive lands that provide us with plenty of quality fruit, vegetable, meat, poultry, game and dairy products. The Important Stuff!
Sahara Restaurant, Bar & Lounge is open Thursday through Sunday 10am - 3pm for Brunch/Lunch and again 6pm - Late for Dinner. We may have extended hours during the warmer months so please call to confirm and we are often open between lunch and dinner for snacks, tea/coffee and bar service. We have a 40-Seat Dining Room, a seperate bar, an informal lounge and a covered outside area making Sahara ideal for a quiet coffee, light lunch, special dinner or a huge function!
